The frame makers nobody puts on a sign
Here's the thing that takes most buyers two or three trips to work out. A large share of the sofas in this hall are built on frames from a much smaller number of frame makers, who don't have showrooms and whose names aren't on anything you'll see.
The showroom buys the frame, adds foam and a cover, and sells it as their model. That's not a scandal, it's just how the industry is organised, and it explains something confusing: why two showrooms three doors apart quote wildly different prices for what feels like the same sofa.
Once you start asking who makes the frame rather than who makes the sofa, the whole hall reads differently. You can specify a better foam on a frame you already like, or take a frame you trust to a showroom with a fabric range you prefer.
Why walking this hall first saves you money everywhere else
Price anchoring is real and it works on you whether you believe in it or not. See a premium hall first and every number afterwards sounds reasonable. See this hall first and you spend the rest of the trip asking what exactly the extra is buying.
Sometimes the answer is a great deal: better frame, denser foam, a finish that survives shipping. Sometimes the answer is rent and a nicer carpet. You can only tell the difference if you know the floor price, and the floor price is here.
What volume actually changes
The discount curve here is steeper than at the top of the market, so quantity genuinely moves the number rather than just earning goodwill.
But watch what gets quietly adjusted when you push hard. Foam density is the usual one, because it's invisible in a showroom and it's the single biggest cost lever in a sofa. Get the density on the invoice before you negotiate, not after, and the discount stays a discount instead of turning into a downgrade.
Size and layout
Published as about 150,000 square metres across ten halls, organised into buying pavilions including Sofa Procurement, Hotel Furniture, Soft Adornment, Mahogany Direct Sale, Modern Luxe and Sleeping Life.
Before you walk in
Walk this hall before you buy anything at Louvre, even if you've no intention of buying here. It resets what you think a sofa costs.
A lot of what you see is the same frame with a different cover.
